Ensembles
Play!

Tuition is of the highest standard. All levels are taught from beginner to advanced (grade 8 and diploma). Individual or group tuition is offered privately and in schools and colleges. Nick is familiar with the National Curriculum, A Common Approach, GCSE and A level syllabuses.

Ensemble Playing
As well as the private half hour lesson, playing in an ensemble is highly recommended. The Birmingham Music Service run several area guitar ensembles for primary to year 8/9 secondary pupils, and there are three Central Ensembles for which students have to audition. These provide rehearsal and performance opportunities for students up to the age of 18. Please visit the ensemble page for more information.

Play! Internet lessons
There are "virtual" lessons on the site that provide a structured practice session and support the weekly lesson. These provide a wide variety of extra practice material, either to play along with via the computer, or to print and download for the music stand and CD player. The "PLAY!" section provides early lessons with video and backing tracks appealing to beginner students.

The online lessons are being continuously updated.

Examinations
Working towards a grade examination is encouraged as it provides a focus for practise and leads to a nationally recognised qualification.

Fees and Terms
Please see information on fees and terms.

SoundMuse
Nick also directs SoundMuse workshops that explore the themes of his research into sound. He has recently lead workshops at BOM Gallery and The Hive Gallery where participants created visual art using sound vibrations.
